Jewelry Appraisals Online

Jewelry Appraisals Online - And What It Means For You:

When it came to Great Advice my Old Gemology Professor gave me one simple rule.

And it was this…

You don’t have to remember everything…
…Just remember where to find it!

  • And that brings me back to why you are here.
  • Because this is where you’ll find it!

Step One - Get the Basic Jewelry Appraisal InformationSTEP ONE - Get the Basics and Order
Jewelry Appraisal Certificate

You see we REALLY DO know where to find it - and that information is available just for you - any hour of the day or night, and in seven different currencies, so it doesn’t matter where you live, the price will be calculated in your money.

Step Two - Watch the Video DemoSTEP TWO - Watch the Video Demonstration

You see there is so much to learn about Jewelry Appraisals that it takes years to become a gemologist and even more years to become an appraiser after that. This is one of the reasons people consider it impossible to do their own appraisal. But it’s not - as long as you have the right tools.

Step Three - Understand Detailed InformationSTEP THREE - Understand the Details

We also have the current prices for Gold, Silver and Platinum in all grades and qualities (so you don’t need to waste time looking for it) plus the price a manufacturing jeweler charges per hour to make your Engagement Ring or your Bracelet, your Pendant and Chain, or just about any item of jewelry you can think of (check the Can Do List).

As there are different costs associated with Cast Jewelry or Assembled items like Brooches and Stickpins, while the individual charges a Gemstone Setter adds to the cost of your Jewelry can make huge variations in price. That was another reason we needed to know where to find it - Just to keep it simple for you.

So we store those prices too, and keep them in our secure database just for you to use - anytime that suits you. It’s all here so you don’t have to waste time running around getting costs and fees and charges.

There is also the fluctuating prices of Diamonds and Gemstones, taking into account the Older Cuts in Antique and Estate Jewelry (which doesn’t ALWAYS make the jewelry more valuable) and because we have people on staff who have worked in the Antique Jewelry Business for over 35 years - Opps, that might just be me! 8) you will get all the information every time and it will be printed right there - on the bottom of your appraisal certificate.

Today a jewelry appraisal can be completed by just about anyone using the right software (takes a little over 15 minutes - quicker if you have done one before) - how do you think some of the professionals do it :-)

So even you can complete your own jewelry appraisal online using our easy to follow, multiple choice, click save and print system to generate a terrific valuation certificate with all the descriptions and specifications required, even placing a photo of your jewelry if you have one, right onto the document before printing.

That’s Safe! - That’s Secure! - That’s Time Saving!

That’s Great Value for Money!

Sometimes People Try To Hard To Remember Everything - When all you had to do was remember where to find it….

Jewelry Appraisal Information Bookmark This Site Into Your Favorites so you’ll always know where to find it in the future and can return to our Jewelry Appraisals Reports and Case Studies to Read the FULL STORY of just how easy it is to complete your jewelry appraisal from the comfort and security of your own home.

I’ll see you on the next page.

Ring Appraisal After Resizing

February 26, 2008 By: admin Category: Mens Jewelry Appraisals No Comments →

Gold Ring Appraisal After Resizing Question:

Hello, My spouse had a ring made for me, without knowing my ring size, and had it made a size 7.

The appraisal was done at that time and the ring weighed 6.7 grams. I had to have it resized down to a size 5.5, it then weighed 6.18 grams.

Practical Jewellery Repair

Price: $22.04

I recently had to have it resized up to a size 6.5 and it still weighs 6.18 grams.

This was all done at the original place of purchase.

This last resize is a bad job as there is a divot and you can see where it was resized, also an emerald has been chipped.

It is a gold band that is (was) fairly thick all the way around with stones only on the top.

How does the change in weight affect my original appraisal if I were to resell the ring?

I’m quite disheartened by the bad resize job and no change in gold weight, is that normal?

Thank you in advance for any advice you can give me. :-)

Gold Bracelet Letdown

October 09, 2007 By: admin Category: Bracelet Appraisals No Comments →

Gold bracelet letdown Question: My grandmother came back from Bari, Italy with a gift for my brother and I.

Two 18k White gold bracelets.

Italian Gold JewelryIn Gold We Trust: Social Capital and Economic Change in the Italian Jewelry Towns
Price: $35.92
Recently somethings have come up in the family and i went to go appraise my bracelet to see if I could lend a hand to my household. The guy behind the counter without event pulling out a magnifying lens took one look at the hallmark on it and said it was gold plated.

I did a little research on the mark it bears, 750. It said it was 18kt gold and if something is gold plated it usually has GEP next to it.

My question is there is another mark on this bracelet that I haven’t found anywhere on my searches online, to the left of the gold marking which kinda looks like this ( * 1947 AR ).

I looked for silver hallmarks just to be safe and have no idea what this means. Can anyone help me?

How To Sell Your Jewelry - Truths and Myths

July 09, 2007 By: admin Category: General Jewelry Appraisals No Comments →

After 35 years working in the Jewelry Industry, one of THE most common questions we get is How to Sell Jewelry.

Generally this is because people do NOT understand what an Appraisal really is - or what it is for.

As a gemologist and Valuer I understand that my client in NOT the person standing before me in the Lab.

My client is in truth, the Insurance company, and the appraisal certificate is for them - not my customer. Yet this is NEVER explained to them so they THINK that if I Value something at $1000 dollars - that is what it is worth. It is NOT. That is the Insurance REPLACEMENT VALUE.

So in an attempt to explain it fully, and after receiving a request for information, I decided to publish both the original question and my answer in the hope it might make things clearer to visitors to this website.

Here is the Question:

Hi David, I own an engagement and wedding ring set which I would like to sell.

I did have it appraised by a professional Gemologist here in Ottawa, Ontario.

Warman\'s Jewelry (3rd Edition)
Warman’s Jewelry (3rd Edition)

Price: $19.00

It has been appraised at $3,100.(Cdn). Outside of going to a Jewellery Store and them offering me more than less the appraised value of the rings, I would like to know if you would suggest another route I might go to sell my rings?

Also what would you think would be a fair market price to ask?

I also undertand there are personal newspaper ads which can be put in the local area but wondering if you could suggest another source to sell a lovely set of rings.

In advance… thank you for your time. It is appreciated.

Opal: The Phenomenal Gemstone

Price: $40.00

Everything is discolored, dull silver while the only markings inside of the ring are the numbers 325 with a stamp of a crown?

What kind of metal is this…
