Is it real Question: Do all real diamond rings have a stamp inside identifying how many karats it is?

My boyfriend gave me a ring that doesn’t have an engraving and I’m sure it’s fake but he insisted that it’s real.
Or that he was tricked into buying what he thought was real.
But he bought it at a very reputable place.

I’m a little confused here. If you mean the gold quality in karats - then the answer is yes. If it is real, the gold quality should be stamped on the inside of the item such as 14k or 14kt - if you live in Europe or Britain it will show as 14c or 14ct (for carat).
If you are referring to the weight in carats of the diamond - then the answer is NO. Most manufacturers don’t know what gemstones are going to be set in their mounts, so they can’t pre-stamp them with any indication as to diamond carat weights etc.

Why don’t you simply go to your local FRIENDLY jeweler and show it to them. Most times they will be able to confirm if it is genuine or not - and many will do this at no charge.
However; if they have to test the item there may be a small fee - but at least then you’ll know and can stop guessing.
If it is a fake, then your boyfriend can get a written appraisal (will be a charge for that) and take it back to where he got it from and ask for a refund.
If it tuns out he knew - You get a refund!
