Useful Tips About The Movado Watches

Movado was the dream of nineteen-year-old Swiss entrepreneur Achille Ditesheim in 1881. With a name that means "always in motion," Movado became a leader in design innovation, earning 200 international awards for design and ingenuity with over 100 patented creations. With curved face cases to fit the wrist and rotor-driven automatics, Movado designs have impressed and inspired. The company put out a protective shield for soldiers' watches during World War I and created the legendary "museum dial" (with just one dot at the top for the 12 position) in 1947 as well.

Today there are over 24 distinct men's, women's and unisex Movado designs to choose from. The signature Movado style boasts elegance, timeless class and simplicity. Without paying as much as a sports car, wearers can get that classy "Rolex" or "Tag Heuer" look without making huge sacrifices. Typically lingering in the mid-hundreds, Movado is more reasonably priced than some of its competitors but still shouts out luxury.

Some of the most popular Movado women's jewelry watches include the Museum dialed "Amorosa" made with stainless steel, silver and diamonds or "Kara," which comes in shades of light blue, pink and silver. The "Ono" style (also with the Museum dial) has a unique circular pattern on their bands, whereas the "Vivo" line holds a rectangular shape for both face and band. For women who desire the traditional 12-marker dials, the "Faceto," "Juro" and "Rilati" all add a little more functionality, without sacrificing the diamonds.

A simple Movado men's luxury watch choice might be the classy "Certa" or "Fiaro" with their patented sleek designs: plain black faces, Museum dials and a gold or silver brick-like or plain link wristband. The men's "Faceto" and "Sapphiro" both have the same face but offers black calfskin bands instead. "Juro" and "Museum" are some of the most popular and varied series available.

The Movado 800 Series is a colorful line of sport watches for men and women made out of durable stainless steel casing and has stick-like markers for the obsessive time keeper or athlete. With stopwatch functionality and coated in super luminova for enhanced visibility, these dynamic sport watches are used by Super Bowl Quarterback Tom Brady and World Series MVP Derek Jeter.

Jewelry hallmarks

Professional jewelry appraisals completed by gemologists and valuers often have to take into account the effect the jewelry hallmarks have on the value of each item being appraised. Do they alter the price, up or down, depending on the hallmark. The simple answer is yes – and no. It depends on the hallmarks themselves and where they come from.

I get similar questions on forums and ‘expert’ websites, together with my own members discussion group. They are usually in the following format, and in general the same questions get asked over and over again. They go… Continue reading Jewelry Hallmarks And What They Mean...

Vintage is often a term that is used when describing fashions from the past that aren’t quiet at the level of being considered antiques but are still classics. Vintage engagement rings can be from any time period considered to be more modern than ancient, typically from the early 1900’s to the retro period of even into the 1970’s.

Most of the engagement rings from these time periods had very distinctive qualities that uniquely categorize the rings as being vintage. Typically the rings included both yellow and white gold combinations on the… Continue reading Engagement Rings From The Past ...
