Gold ring ID Question?
Gold ring ID Question:
The ring I am inquiring about is supposed to 22K, and from the 1860’s.
There are no markings except for a stamped in capital A and next to it is a 5 point star.
It has a green stone. Not really looking for a value - Just the maker.
I looked int the library and could not find this mark.
Any help would be appreciated…
Thanks
Answer: I have made a comment below but I would just like to add that if you need a Jewelry Appraisals Online Certificate it is available at low cost here.

G’day Robert and many thanks for your query
Your Hallmark could be from any of several different places as Spain - Norway - Turkey - Russia and even Malta have all used the star in their design.
I’m sorry that there is just not enough information.
You need to also backtrack in what country the person lived or purchased the item - if it was passed down - where did they live?
It’s like a detective story really as you have to get ALL the clues and put them together.
Please let me know if you come up with any further information during your research by adding this question or any results on my blog at: http://how2valuejewelry.com/
Someone else may have a similar hallmark and already have answers. Can’t harm anyway…
