I am going to assume you have an item of Jewelry to Price, but I need to ask you one simple question before you begin, because the answer depends on what TYPE of Certificate you need right now.
Because Each Of Those Prices Are Different...
"The Biggest Problem In Providing A Fair Valuation or Appraisal Price Is Finding Out If The Client Wants To Sell, Buy Or Insure. They Are All Different Prices.
This Has NOTHING To Do With The Price In The Store Right Now!"
G'day, my name is David Foard F.G.A.A. and I'm your resident Jewelry Appraiser, Gemologist and Valuer right here at the Jewelry Appraisal Center.
So before I can send you to the right section I need to know do you want to Buy something (and don't want to pay too much) or Sell Something (and don't want to feel ripped off) or simply get your treasured jewelry Insured.
They are Three VERY DIFFERENT THINGS.
So Go Ahead - Make your selection above and I'll see you on the next page.

I have black star saphire jewelry…bought overseas around 1964. one carrot stones..approximate worth of a real stone that size?
i have a brooch with a pat # 1798867 and a cuff link pat# 1852183 and many other jewelry such as choker sets among others
i have a class ring i rarely wear…when i bought it was over 400 dollars…it is 10k white gold and has a Perot diamond in the center…i was wondering how much it is worth now ????
These are simply Model numbers or as you suggest – patent numbers and have no major bearing on a value of an item (unless the maker is very famous) and that would make the item Handmade.
The most useful part of these numbers on general jewelry items is often overlooked – and that is IDENTIFICATION in the event of them being lost or stolen.
So Please record them. For extra security (assuming they are gold silver or platinum) is get an online appraisal certificate done here and include a photo image as well.
Hope that helps.
When you purchased the item it was at full retail – Tax paid and so on. Now it only has a second-hand value on the open market should you want to sell it. Therefore you need a current MASTER APPRAISAL and apply for your complimentary Trading Range Value.
That’s the only way you are going to get a true figure.
I have a green amber stone 4 carets what is it worth??/
There is no such thing as a fixed price for anything. It always depends on what you – as a willing seller are prepared to accept from a willing buyer in the open second-hand market place.
Green Amber would NOT be the most sellable anyway. Green?

Hello,
I have had an ivory ring given to me(it has indeed been identified as real ivory not bone or any other imitation). It is hand carved, solid ivory band. What price range do you think it is worth? I personally have no idea. Even if you have a wide ballpark it would help.
Thank You!
Yo,
Whats the value of a Geneve 14k gold case Ladies Diamond
Watch manufactured in Japan?
Rocky
I have no idea because we are Jewelry Appraisers and not watch appraisers.
You will need to see a specialist watchmaker valuer for that kind of information. We do NOT do watches here.
Sorry I can’t be of anymore help. Try eBay or check the current Geneve website.

My friend needs money and wants to sell a ring to me. It is, she says, high quality and good workmanship. Heavy yellow gold band with 3 karats brilliant cut pave diamonds and baguettes. We both know the jeweler who crafted the ring on a personal basis and he has a large clientele of very wealthy people who do ongoing business with him. She says she paid $4200 a few years ago. I was thinking of offering her $2100. She needs the money right away. Do this sounds reasonable?
There is no such thing as a FIXED price for anything. You as a willing buyer will have to agree on the Willing Seller’s price. That’s it.
There is a huge misconception that an appraisal is what something is worth (which it’s not). An appraisal is for the INSURANCE INDUSTRY and provides them with a guide and you with a premium to pay covering you for the next 12 months.
Most secondhand items (and sometimes even new) will buy and sell within a TRADING RANGE Based on a percentage of the Retail Replacement or Insurance Appraisal Valuation amount.
We call that the MASTER APPRAISAL.
All other values stem from that and is a FREE JEWELRY APPRAISAL Service for clients who have purchased on of our Online Jewelry Valuation Certificates.
If you have the details, then entering them into our multiple choice forms to arrive at the MASTER APPRAISAL figure is easy (about 15 minutes) and a simple request to our Technical Support will give you the Trading Range.
The rest is up to you.
Hope that helps.
Dave.
How to read this (diamond ring)
3/4 CTTW AA/5-6
3/4 CT probably means 3/4 carats. There should be also some code for a color and clarity… Can you tell me what TW and AA/5-6 means?
Thank you!
