How to Avoid A Jewelry Disaster...
If you were subscribed to our website, Newsletters, Courses or Reports you would have received a copy of the email written below. We thought it was so important that we have once again reproduced it here on our Blog, together with a few replies we received at the time.
The Katrina Hurricane in the Gulf ranks right up there with the very worst of Natural (or human) disasters.
This article was written within a few hours of the News hitting the airways.
Please feel free to add any comments....
G'day folks and many thanks for taking the time to read this long email.
As a past and valued client with Patricia and myself through one of our Jewelry websites, we wanted to send out this special message to you all.
If you had read the blurb on our Jewelry Appraisal web, you will have remembered where I mentioned being 'The Victim of Loss' and how we all tend to put it off until it's too late.
It is something I am *VERY* passionate about as I have seen first hand just how much it can effect everyone - nobody is immune.
And that brings us back to the purpose of this email. The Hurricane disaster.
These poor people in the Gulf States have become victims of loss on a HUGE scale.
- They have lost their Homes....
- They have lost their jobs - income - places to work....
- They have lost family members - pets - friends....
And they have lost the small personal things in life they can't replace.
- Family Photographs....
- Birth and Wedding Certificates....
- Treasured Jewelry....
*Just think about that for a moment.*
- Family Photographs....
- Birth and Wedding Certificates....
- Treasured Jewelry....
Everything's gone.
They have become the worst case of 'Victims of Loss' we can possibly imagine.
We have to do something to help. Now. TODAY!
- But how? (I can almost hear you thinking).
- But what can we do.
- We are so far away.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Please think about this for a moment longer. Think how lucky we all are.
Try to imagine what they must be going through - right now - while you're eating your Breakfast - while you're in work - Having a Night out with your family or friends.
Hard, isn't it?
The first thing we can all do is donate. That helps relieve the pain today.
But we need to do more - for tomorrow - for everyone else.
So what I'm suggesting is a two step method. The first gets cash into the hands of the people who need it - The second (I hope) prevents YOUR family and friends from suffering in the same way by being prepared - By NOT becoming the 'Victim of Loss' in the future.
Patricia and I want to donate (just like you) but maybe - just maybe, we can all do a little more.
BUT THE IMPORTANT PART IS YOUR CONTRIBUTION - and I don't mean money either.
We are asking you to tell your workmates, your family, your friends how they can prevent becoming the 'Victim of Loss' by getting their appraisal done right now - before it's too late.
You see, even some of the victims down in New Orleans had personal Jewelry. Heck some of them may even of had an up-to-date Appraisal Certificate locked in their bedroom drawer.
Guess where that piece of paper is now?
It's gone, along with the jewelry and personal possessions. The gold and silver and diamonds are lost in the mud. That physical appraisal is not worth the paper it WAS written on.
That's why I often stress the benefit of doing your Jewelry Appraisals Online!
No matter what happens (and it's already happened to many) your treasured details are safely locked in our database which you can access 24/7 from anywhere in the world.
- In short - you will be able to replace your personal Jewelry exactly!
- No guesswork (I think it was 14ct).
- No second best (I'm sure it was a Diamond - but maybe not?)
- No short measure (my wife's chain was longer than that).
So our message is this....
Do it Now before it's too late....
Tell a friend - tell your neighbor and be thankful you still have one.
The small amount of money donated is just for today.
Your recommendations to others, is for tomorrow. Spread the word.
Pass it on....
As usual; take care and watch the road.
David and Patricia
Jewelry hallmarks
Professional jewelry appraisals completed by gemologists and valuers often have to take into account the effect the jewelry hallmarks have on the value of each item being appraised. Do they alter the price, up or down, depending on the hallmark. The simple answer is yes – and no. It depends on the hallmarks themselves and where they come from.
I get similar questions on forums and ‘expert’ websites, together with my own members discussion group. They are usually in the following format, and in general the same questions get asked over and over again. They go… Continue reading Jewelry Hallmarks And What They Mean...
Vintage is often a term that is used when describing fashions from the past that aren’t quiet at the level of being considered antiques but are still classics. Vintage engagement rings can be from any time period considered to be more modern than ancient, typically from the early 1900’s to the retro period of even into the 1970’s.
Most of the engagement rings from these time periods had very distinctive qualities that uniquely categorize the rings as being vintage. Typically the rings included both yellow and white gold combinations on the… Continue reading Engagement Rings From The Past ...
Platinum is regarded as a superior metal for fine jewelry and is used in many exquisite diamond engagement rings. It is 35 times more rare than gold and is naturally white. It is the strongest metal used in jewelry and is 90 to 95 percent pure. The high purity level makes it hypoallergenic and an idyllic choice for someone who has sensitive skin. Platinum is also almost twice as heavy as 14K gold which makes it very durable.
The reason Platinum is a desirable metal for making jewelry is because it is very malleable and can be formed without cracking… Continue reading Platinum Facts...
Hi there……..I understand what your saying… you see, I live on the gulf coast…. in Navarre Florida to be exact.
Fortunately we just got the outer bands of Katrina but since 1995 we have had direct hits from hurricane Erin, Opal, Ivan and just recently hurricane Dennis of which all four eyes went right over us!
So I understand the importance of what your saying.
Today my mind was running in circles about how I can help these people. Frankly I’m ashamed that our country, the richest in the world is not doing a better job than they are and as the days go by I’m seeing things getting worse.
So the way I see it I feel it’s time the people of this great land of ours join together to make a difference……..if you put enough kitty’s meows together it becomes a lions roar!
I’m working on a website to raise awareness of whats happening to our country….. hoping to make a difference!
If you like I could add a link to your site….it’s your call.
Honestly I’m becoming a very scorned woman after learning in Irac the price of gasoline is a nickle a gallon………whats up with that Mr. President?
Anyway……I just blew off a little steam so please excuse me.
Warm Regards,
S. Gabbert
