In the precious metals, silver is the cheapest followed by gold and then Platinum. As of today, PURE gold is US$828 per ounce while Platinum is US$1458 per ounce.
ALMOST DOUBLE.
So if you can afford it - PLUS - if you love the Platinum color (remember the white color won't ALWAYS be in fashion (Think the 1970's - 1980's) then go for Platinum every time.
BUT beware the quality.
Pure gold is too soft, so they mix it with other metals to make it last longer. That's why you get 18 karat or 14K or in Europe 9ct (carat) golds.
This makes them cheaper also.
