Cubic Zirconia or Diamond?

Cubic Zirconia Wedding Rings

Cubic zirconia, the stunning diamond-like stone that can be seen in so many wedding bands and wedding rings, what is it and where does it come from? Cubic zirconia is the better known name for zirconium dioxide in the cubic crystalline form. It is a material that is hard, always without color, and generally perfect. It can be found in a lot of styles, sizes, and colors. Since it has a visually close similarity to a genuine diamond, the cubic zirconia serves as a diamond replacement since 1976. Cubic zirconia can be used as an inexpensive substitute for diamonds in all styles of jewelry, from bracelets, necklaces, earrings and rings, or just about anything that might usually have a diamond.

But why would one not go for the genuine thing? Why not purchase a true diamond ring instead of a cubic zirconia one? A lot of people might choose cubic zirconia anyway, but really what it boils down to is someone's budget. The replacement for diamonds is a lot more affordable; a handsome sized diamond ring could be priced at over a thousand dollars, depending on the quality of diamond, while a cubic zirconia jewel could cost a fraction of this price, even when set in real gold.
