So just what are the implications of your Jewelry Appraisals - and why should you care?

It depends...

If you are obtaining a jewelry appraisal certificate, as required by your insurance company, then you should also consider this as an annual event - and sometimes even more often depending on the movement of Gold, Silver, platinum and all precious metals and gemstones.

However - in generally terms - once a year is standard.

You see the reason you are required to provide an up-to-date appraisal is because the insurance company needs to know the total value of each item covered by their policy - FOR UP TO ONE YEAR IN ADVANCE!

They don't know if you are going to make a claim on the policy today - tomorrow or one year from now, that's why they need to know a value which will replace your item - IN FULL.

Sometimes, if the price of say gold - goes over 10% percent up or down - that could make a HUGE difference in the payout they are expected to pay to you as the policy holder.

You need to be up-to-date at all times.

Not all Insurance companies are so strict, providing the valuation price has not changed by more or less than 10%percent in a year, then they are quite happy to accept the first certificate for another year, or simply increase the cover by a set amount. Every company is different so you should check with your preferred insurer.

But you should also be aware that if you have not renewed your certificate and it shows only $1000 in value, but when you go to your local jeweler to get it replaced - they quote $1500 dollars or more - then the insurance company is NOT liable to pay the full replacement cost - because you only insured the item for the amount on the insurance certificate. In this case $1000 dollars. You will have to pay the shortfall out of your own pocket.

So what to do?

At the Jewelry Appraisal Center, we realized that a built in low cost fee could be the solution. Each year you will be billed through PayPal at HALF PRICE for existing current customers, and that will allow you to go back into your Valuation Manager and go through a VERY simple procedure to upgrade your appraisal Certificate with the current prices of gold, metals, gemstones and manufacturing charges.

The details are already in the database after all (we keep them safe in our secure server for 7 years) so all you have to do is upgrade. No need to pay in full again - but you still have to do the work yourself.

Safe - secure and inexpensive.

But someone thought it was still a chore - they didn't want the hassle of going through it again.

So we came up with the Extended Warranty Upgrade.

To put it simply - we replace the once a year annual half price fee with a $2 per month (YES JUST $2 A MONTH!) subscription payment PLUS we do the upgrade for you at NO EXTRA CHARGE and send you the upgraded Certificate straight into your email inbox. You don't even have to take the time out to upgrade it yourself.

We do it for you - for just $2 dollars a month. How cool is that?

Of course this is still an optional service. If you don't want it simply cancel inside PayPal and you will never be charged again. However, should you wish to renew at a later date, you will not get the same discounted fee.

It is as though you are starting all over again - bummer!
