It you have a really beautiful opal, you can gaze into the stone for days. Believe me, when I first got my opal jewelry, I lost many days staring into the lovely extent of that stone. Although the layout on opal brooches is pretty, it is the stone itself which makes it one of my favored pieces of jewelry.
The most bizarre thing about opal brooches is that I can't remember where or when I got it. I guess I ought to be nearly tempted to consider that I always had it, except for the memory of, when I was a young person, not receiving any brooches that I was fond of, and heading out to the charity store to get some.
