Couple Jewelry To Show You Love Each Other

How To Show Each Other - And The Rest Of The World - That You Are In Love:

When two people are in love, they often give gifts to each other by way of saying "we are a couple".

Long before the relationships head towards the 'Wedding March' with the obvious wedding rings to match, it has now become almost traditional to have a kind of 'His and Hers' Couples Jewelry that they can share prior to the big day and the church celebrations.

Today, modern couples can have more than just rings to signify their bond.

Sapphire and Diamond RingBecause of the tradition of exchanging rings or giving of diamonds (think Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor) has been entrenched into our lives, there seems to be an almost compulsory expectation that engagement rings or some other form of friendship ring has to be given in order to signify marriage sometime in the future.

This has become so popular that pre-wedding rings (old style 'friendship rings) are exchanged to say "I Love You and will marry you one day."

But there are alternatives for those who see the old ways as being just that - OLD!

Pendants or matching chains and bracelets are now being accepted as a wonderful alternative to the traditional, but is an option that allows engagement and wedding bands at a later stage in their development.

And they can be made very personal and individualized when gold or silver jewelry is engraved with Names Or Initials and secret little messages that only the couple understand. These can be placed on Charms too, and often have significant dates inscribed in a personal and meaningful way.

Truly 'Couples Jewelry'. No-one else can share these items of devotion.

Don't forget symbols like Hearts or Flowers to suggest something special. Antique and Vintage Jewelry often had love knots and Bluebirds stamped into brooches and Lockets to indicate something special to someone special. Celtic Marking were also very popular.

Wouldn't you want that too?

And you don't have to think traditional metals and materials are the only way to have these items made.

While Gold and Silver were the most usual, Platinum items and White Gold has always been very special to both the couple in question and the Jewelry Manufacturing Trade in particular, who are always looking for new ways to 'Modernize' and shake things up a little.

Titanium is another example and look good on both Men and Women.

During the late 19th Century Rose Gold became VERY popular as the warm color is so attractive it lends itself to beautiful things. Later, Platinum became the 'chic' metal and even Green Gold and Multi-colored gold. Often metals were mixed or entwined (Silver and Gold for example).

Don't forget Gemstones in your Couples Jewelry. They come in all sizes shapes and colors and with the addition of your personal Birthstone can add a sparkling display to almost any item.

The R.E.G.A.R.D.S Jewelry was a classic example having Ruby, Emerald, Garnet, Amethyst, Ruby, Diamond and Sapphire making up the name. Does your loved one have a name which could be spelled out with gemstones?

If you want to go for the best, I would personally recommend Opal and Diamonds as a very special combination, but Sapphires or Ruby and Emerald all make for spectacular Couples Jewelry.

Jewelry hallmarks

Professional jewelry appraisals completed by gemologists and valuers often have to take into account the effect the jewelry hallmarks have on the value of each item being appraised. Do they alter the price, up or down, depending on the hallmark. The simple answer is yes – and no. It depends on the hallmarks themselves and where they come from.

I get similar questions on forums and ‘expert’ websites, together with my own members discussion group. They are usually in the following format, and in general the same questions get asked over and over again. They go… Continue reading Jewelry Hallmarks And What They Mean...

Most people when they imagine a pearl are picturing perfect large round spherical gems, creamy white in colour with a shimmery iridescent surface. The reality is that pearls are usually irregular in shape, each one is different and to find one that is completely round is almost unheard of, not to mention trying to make a whole necklace of pearls that are all more or less the same. Natural pearls are the rarest and most highly valued variety, but nowadays most pearl jewellery is made from cultured or farmed pearls, which are grown on pearl farms… Continue reading What are the Main Differences Between Freshwater and Saltwater Pearls?...

Name jewelry is one of the trendiest types of fashion accessory for both men and women. A large part of this modern upswing in popularity is due to the hip hop culture where large name jewelry items have become the defining fashion in bling. While much of the current fashion is large, bling-style pieces, name jewelry can range from delicate and subtle to big and bold. But name jewelry is also very popular as traditional mothers jewelry. Name rings and name necklaces are by far the most popular items with online stores and retailers… Continue reading Name Jewelry Trends...
