Appraisal Advisory Service and what it means for you:
Part of the recent website upgrade was brought about by our survey in late January conducted with past clients and visitors - and yes - even visitors are important to us and we always listen...
Several very valid points were brought up in that survey and most of them centered around a fairly similar theme.
That is - visitors were not sure if they would be able to complete an online solution to their problem (despite thousands of others who had) or were simply not confident enough to even try it (the risk at just $2 per month seemed too much) Go figure?
So we knew we had to do something about it, and the rest as they say - is History.
Think of it as your Tax accountant making sure you have claimed for everything you are entitled to. It's the same principle.
Our basic Online Jewelry Appraisal is called the Benchmark Package and is designed to let anyone complete a simple multiple choice form from home and print a finished Certificate to their printer - too easy!
But for those clients who were not sure, we designed the Appraisal Advisory Service to help them.
It simply allows a qualified gemologist Valuer to look over your Do-it-Yourself appraisal BEFORE you finish and print your Certificate. That way, the form is checked to ensure everything which should have been done - has been done.
But more importantly, also ensures that you have maximized the appraisal for the best possible outcome.
To understand what it can really do for you we have copied an Appraisal Advisory Service report which was commissioned in late February for a client in Michigan USA. The report lays out in easy steps by indicating the exact question numbers on specific pages, what needed to be done. It also makes any recommendations as the gemologist went through the appraisal Kit.
The outcome was a $3475 dollar difference to the final bottom line.
I can personally recommend the Appraisal Advisory Service which is included at a special first time purchase discount price in the Enhanced Package.
If you have not yet had the chance to read about the Online Jewelry Appraisal Options I urge you to do so now.
You can get there using this link --> Special Report which will open in a new Tab or Window.

COPY OF APPRAISAL ADVISORY SERVICE REPORT DATED FEB 24 2009.
I have just been through your Kit and have a few pointers you might like to consider, especially as you picked a fairly complex ring to be the first one.
Here are my observations:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On the METALS page
Q#4 is this over 25 years old (Vintage) if not - it is modern. On the Gold page I have changed Q#3 to 18ct because 15ct tends to be the old Victorian Standard so doesn't apply.
Q#7 I have added the 18ct mark.
Q#11 - you have a weight of 8.20 grams - is this correct (it may be a little heavy). IS THIS MORE THAN 1 RING?
If not - continue as though they were one item but if they are, you should make a comment on the JEWELRY ITEM page Q#8 to the effect '2 RINGS SOLDERED TOGETHER' as this will then print on the final Certificate.
RINGS page
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~![]() | Gems & Jewelry Appraising, 3rd Edition: Techniques of Professional Practice List Price: Sale Price: $28.72 You save: $11.27 (28%) |
DescriptionThis new edition covers all the standards, procedures, and ethics of appraising gems, jewelry, and other valuables. Each step involved in conducting an appraisal is fully explained, with photos, case studies, key documents, worksheets and pricing data included... |
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Q#4 width at 12.70mm - that's approx half an inch wide on the narrowest bottom part of the ring
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
MANUFACTURE page
Q#4 - Channel set is wrong - they are claw set
Q#5 how many claws (little beads holding gems) Looks like 4
Q#6 ONLY set 1 main gem here - the largest
On the ADDITIONAL gemstones select Bead set. Again I can't see the detail so you will have to pick one - but then you have to add the 7 gems left over from above, and add them to the TOTAL number of (I am assuming Diamonds).
If you can remember the GOLDEN RULE - 1 gem = 1 setting.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ADDITIONAL Gems
Q#8 (you have 63) but you say no gemstones? That is why the software did not prompt you with additional gemstone pages but sent you to the SUMMARY to finish.
Add ALL the other gems together to give you a TOTAL NUMBER
Q#12 you say Your country of origin? USA?
It looks like a classic South East Asian ring design
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
MAIN Diamond
Q#1 should be set to 1
Q#9 shows a 10pt gem
Q#10 with a size of 6.35 across - is almost 1 carat (ie: 100pts) - a 10pt diamond measures 3mm across - the size chart is next to the question to help you.
YOU DID NOT HAVE ANY ADDITION GEMS LISTED?
Check them all on the SUMMARY page again, just to make sure everything is alright. There is no rush - you have up to 30 days to complete these before printing.
I will reset your kit now so please - if prompted to pay again - DON'T!

END REPORT
So there you have it. A practical example of just what an Appraisal Advisory Service report looks like.
This one was complex - many do not need anywhere near this amount of changes - but can you imagine what the incorrect appraisal might have looked like?
For the one additional fee on ANY past appraisals, you can get an upgrade by using the PayPal Order inside your Valuation Manager AND at a preferred customer discount.
For the rest of this explanation I am going to assume you have not yet started your appraisal, so I would suggest you check the Special Report we have written which explains everything you need to know before you order.
The current price for this additional service starts at just $25.00 but when bundled with our Enhanced Package is discounted to just $16.00.
You can find it here --> Special Report
If you wish to add this service to your past appraisals you can use the button below...

Jewelry hallmarks
Professional jewelry appraisals completed by gemologists and valuers often have to take into account the effect the jewelry hallmarks have on the value of each item being appraised. Do they alter the price, up or down, depending on the hallmark. The simple answer is yes – and no. It depends on the hallmarks themselves and where they come from.
I get similar questions on forums and ‘expert’ websites, together with my own members discussion group. They are usually in the following format, and in general the same questions get asked over and over again. They go… Continue reading Jewelry Hallmarks And What They Mean...

Hello from Canada,
I was excited to find your program offered on internet. I read the long initial introduction and thought I had a small grasp on what you are providing. Then I went to the payment site which listed 3 products I could purchase as well as several add-ons. Here’s where I tanked realizing I have no idea what services you are offering. I must be excused for my ignorance as I have been impaired by 23 years of education. I thought you were offering a home based evaluation program. I want to learn how to begin to appraise different types of jewelry. As I read initially this what I was lead to believe your program could do for me. Upon reading the different products I found 3 different levels of service packages. Looked good and prices reasonable. I thought to purchase the best kit for all the items included. Then I get to the point where I’m invited to purchase up to 5 deluxe kits at a time. Now I am really confused. Why would I need to have 5 kits for 149.99? I simply want to start learning how to do this with your feedback on my final assessments. Won’t one deluxe kit be enough for me? What am I not understanding? Please drop me a line and “smarten me up“ so I can start with the learning and use of this offered program.
Humbly and confused, Vance McPhail
PS Merry Christmas to you and yours.
G’day Vance and I must say I’m quite concerned that our message is not getting through?
